Education Week

This is a little late, but I just wanted to tell everyone how much fun Education Week is. A couple of weeks ago I went with Job's mom, sister, and one of his brothers and it was a blast. The four of us took a folk dancing class everyday. That's definately (I think I spelled that word wrong) worth a try if some of you haven't tried it. One morning I ran into my Aunt Liesl and Uncle Ron, but Ron was not there when we took our picture. I took classes on journal keeping, the Book of Mormon, staying healthy, marriage, coming to the Savior and much more.

Denver

Job called me while I was at Education Week and wanted me to fly to Denver to see him for the weekend, he was there for a conference, and then we wold fly home together on Sunday. So I did. I had never been to Denver . . . and it was alright. It was the weekend before the Democratic Convention, so there were police everywhere, porta-potties, and camera men. As well as all of that, hotel rooms skyrocketed tremendously. There were people smoking everywhere. We did not have a car, so we walked the little trolley streets and went to Bubba Gump Shrimp for lunch. They even had people playing music on the street corners, even a flutist. It sure was pretty with all the buildings. It was worth going just to see my wonderful husband.

Monkey Bread???

Job and I love this, but we could never agree on a name for it. My family calls it Monkey bread, but Job knows monkey bread as the cinnamon sugar bread (cinnamon pull-aparts in my family). For Job's and my sake, we named it Butter Bread. Here's the recipe . . . enjoy!!

In large bowl put: 2 cups of warm water, 1/2 cup of sugar, 1 tsp salt, and 2 tblsp yeast.

Mix and set until bubbly.

Add 2 beaten eggs, 3 cups flour, and 4tblsp oil. Slowly add 3-4 (or more if needed) cups of flour.

Knead and then cover and let it rise until it's double.

Melt 1 stick of margarine in a bundt pan in the oven. Roll dough on floured surfice into 1/2" thick and cut out with biscuit cutter (I use a jar lid). Dip cut out dough in melted butter and stack on its side. Repeat until full. Bake for 40 minutes at 350 degrees.

***With one recipe, I can make two.

Morinda Gardens

These pictures are a little late, but I wanted to share them. A couple of weeks ago, Job and I went to his cousin's wedding up in Salt Lake. The reception was behind the Tahition Noni building in their Morinda Gardens. It was beautiful with waterfalls and lots of grass and flowers.

Lots of Lake fun

The day before we left California, we went to Lake Elsinore. Everyone had a blast on the Sea-doos and playing in the water and sand. Madison looked so cute lounging on her towel in the sand.

Job was the guy who carried kids to and from the sea-doo and the shore. Aubrey, Jordyn, Scott, and Marley liked playing with the shovels and pails.

Ashley and Jared took Jordyn out on the lake. They were the only ones that could.
