Like Mother like Son

For my 10th birthday, all I wanted was a big box to play in ... I got one. I use to drag the box around the neighborhood to play with my friends and we camped out in it and filled it up with pillow and blankets. We jumped in it and pushed eachother over in it. We wore that box out. Because of this, when my parents got a new recliner, they saved the box, knowing that Porter and I would be coming. Here are several pictures of us enjoying the big box. My dad had to cut it down so Porter could pull himself up and see over the top of it.

Mickey Grove

Porter and I spent a week at my parents and one of the days we went to Mickey Grove Zoo. It was a small zoo, with some birds, monkeys, lemurs and a few other things. Here are pictures of the animals and of us enjoying the small but good enough with an 8 month old.

Here is the bunch of us on the big tortoise.

"Daddy can I keep it?" "I promise I'll take care of it and i'll water it once a month." "I'm a tortoise lovin' Porter."

One of the many birds that were everywhere.

Grandpa loved to carry Porter around the zoo and showing him all the animals.

Here are two lemurs with their gorgeous long tails. One squirrel got into the cage and was eating the lemur's food, but when he wanted to get away from the lemurs, he could not remember how to get out.

Some more monkeys.

The mountain lion.

This is everyone through the glass of the tortoise home.

You were not suppose to look at this monkey straight in the eyes because it intimitates them. OOPS... he raised his eyebrows and just glared.

Great and Grand

My mom and grandma came to visit for a few days. This was Porter's first time meeting my grandma, but I think he enjoyed it.

Saying good-bye to grandma.

Dancing with grandma.
