Cedar Mountain

The Cyclopse

The other day Job and I wanted to make cyclopse pancakes for breakfast. We saw the idea on the food network channel. Job's was so big he needed help from a cookie sheet to flip it (as shown above). It was fun- try it.

Sunday Walk

On Sunday, Jen and the Kids, Kenny and Kim, and Job, Lucy and I went for a walk up the Canyon Trail. It was fun just being together and enjoying the beautiful earth. Above: Kim, Kenny and Katie.

Lucy's Haircut

We have a dog. Her name is Lucy and we got her from the Enoch Shelter. We tried to cut her hair a while a go but she moves a lot so we decided to take her to a groomer. She looked good after 3 hours of cutting and cleaning. She even got a bandana to wear.

Christina and Kimberly Visits

Christina and Kimberly came to visit us for a week and while they were here we went to the Cemetary with flowers for our Grandpas and Uncle Todd. We took Katie and Isaac with us and they loved to help us put the flowers on the tombstones.

We also went to Orderville for the Demolition Derby. On our way there, we decided to stay the night in Kanab at Parry Lodge Motel (in the Anne Baxter room). Since we didn't bring anything to stay over, we just picked up some toothbrushes and some toothpaste at the store. While in Kanab we stopped by to see Martyn.

I took a lot of pictures at the Demolition Derby but they weren't very good, so this are the best in motion. Actually . . . it wasn't really a demolition derby, it was more of a race, but it was still pretty good. This first picture is of a car that had to be pushed out of the track because it broke down. You can tell that we were in "Hick Town" because a tractor pushed it.

The picture above is of a car that struggled. It got hit a few times and had a hard time starting back up, so it just sat there in the middle of the races. This next picture is of the event that we left during. They took a car hood and strapped an old van seat to it. Then they put people on it and drove them around the track. Some of them flew off the back- not so smart.

Airplane View

I am not a fan of flying or being 15,000 feet above the ground. I prefer not to be in a shaky, turbulence driven machine. Despite my fear of falling, I do end up in an airplane every once in a while. There is one thing that I do love about being in it- the view. Up in that big hunk of metal you can experience God's workmanship. This world (even though I have not been many places) is truly beautiful. I took these pictures flying from Denver to Salt Lake. I could not help myself.

Education Week

This is a little late, but I just wanted to tell everyone how much fun Education Week is. A couple of weeks ago I went with Job's mom, sister, and one of his brothers and it was a blast. The four of us took a folk dancing class everyday. That's definately (I think I spelled that word wrong) worth a try if some of you haven't tried it. One morning I ran into my Aunt Liesl and Uncle Ron, but Ron was not there when we took our picture. I took classes on journal keeping, the Book of Mormon, staying healthy, marriage, coming to the Savior and much more.

Denver

Job called me while I was at Education Week and wanted me to fly to Denver to see him for the weekend, he was there for a conference, and then we wold fly home together on Sunday. So I did. I had never been to Denver . . . and it was alright. It was the weekend before the Democratic Convention, so there were police everywhere, porta-potties, and camera men. As well as all of that, hotel rooms skyrocketed tremendously. There were people smoking everywhere. We did not have a car, so we walked the little trolley streets and went to Bubba Gump Shrimp for lunch. They even had people playing music on the street corners, even a flutist. It sure was pretty with all the buildings. It was worth going just to see my wonderful husband.
